The applications of Duct tape in wilderness need a whole separate article for itself. Putting the sticking sides of the Duct tape together you can make a really strong fabric material that have a number of usages such as making a sleeping sheet etc. The duct tape can be used to stop bleeding, building small structures by putting small logs together, building traps for small insects that could be source of protein, and many more application depending upon one’s creativity.

If you are stuck in a situation where you don’t want to give away your location; a Dakota hole can not only keep you fed and warm it’s a perfect way to hide your tracks in the wilderness. The idea is to dig two holes in the ground side by side and then connecting them with a tunnel.

Put your wood or any other material that you need to burn the fire with in one hole while the other hole will serve as a constant oxygen supplier that will keep the fire burning while producing a minimal amount of smoke. The method is perfect to lit a fire in a windy situation as all the required oxygen is provided through the tunnel, and you can also pretend that you are being followed by a herd of zombies.
