The US has an abundance of spectacular spring break destinations for outdoors enthusiasts, working people, students, and adventurers. Spring is probably the best time of the year if you want to relax at some great location with your friends and family, somewhere you can all take a break from everyday city life and busy schedules. It’s a great time to grab yourself a chance to recharge the batteries and reset your body for any new challenges and tasks that await you upon your return from an escape into nature.

There are plenty of national and state parks across the country that you can visit this spring where you can create unforgettable memories. Here are some of the most spectacular spring break escapes for you and your loved ones.

Gulf Islands National Shoreline, Mississippi

Mississippi is a perfect destination for those of you who like the mixture of gulf coastline, camping, and historical activities. You can visit the Davis Bayou Campground near the West Ship Island, or venture to the island itself via the passenger ferry and enjoy some stunning views. While on the island be sure to walk through Fort Massachusetts. You can stop by at one of the visitor centers and check the event schedule of the park.

San Diego, California

The city of San Diego offers a complete package for the whole family. Here you can find everything from sandy beaches with year-round sunshine, a vibrant city for the urban types, and plenty of nearby destinations for the outdoorsy freaks. If you are in the city don’t miss San Diego Natural History Museum, which will satisfy your cultural needs.

The adventurers among you can visit the Cedar Creek Falls, just 31 miles away from the city, and enjoy the 80-foot tall waterfall or stop by at Cabrillo National Monument, just outside of San Diego. You can also join a guided tour to the lighthouse, some military history, hiking, and cycling. It’s up to you how you’re going to spend the spring break.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach and its 60 miles of sandy coast is a top spring break destination for families. Plenty of visitors come here every year to enjoy the sunny beach or to have some extra fun at the amusement and water parks. You can spend one day visiting the Fort Sumter National Monument on Sullivan’s Island or make a short trip outside of Myrtle Beach to the Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge to see a variety of birds and forest wildlife.

Padre Island, Texas

The Padre Island National Seashore is a perfect place for people who like to spend their time on the beach. With 70 miles of pure barrier island coastline, Padre Island is the longest of its kind, and it offers plenty of beach adventures and activities. If you want to relax and meditate, you can spend your time on the beach, staring at the horizon. If you want to be more active, go fishing or birding. Camping on Padre Island is quite popular, so make sure you have a reservation and get there early.

The beaches along the northeast coast offer a variety of experiences depending on what kind of adventure you’re looking for. Anything from rugged beauty to shiny sandy beaches can be found on the shores from Maine to New Jersey. Tiny islands along the Atlantic Ocean Coast, forests, lakes, and springs are some of the features of Acadia that millions of people visit each year. Admiring some of the many national beauties of the US with the ones you love the most is the best thing you can do this spring break.
